Welcome to the 2019 Dave MacDonald Haltemprice 10K.  This year’s 33rd running of the race, renamed in honour of its founder, Dave MacDonald of Haltemprice RRC, is brought to you by LKR Events in collaboration with Kingston upon Hull AC.

Please note the new start time of 9am for this year and the race will run on closed roads.

We are grateful to Haltemprice Leisure Centre for hosting us again.  Please access the leisure centre as directed via the side shutter door to the main hall. (Follow the marshals directions)

If you have transferred your entry it is your responsibility to send the number to the new runner. Numbers are non transferable after Wednesday 23 October.

General Information

The race start & finish is on South Ella Way, approx 500 metres from the Leisure Centre.  Do NOT park on the street at the start/finish, thank you.

Car Parking & Directions

Limited Car Parking is available at Haltemprice Leisure Centre, Springfield Way, Anlaby, Kingston upon Hull HU10 6QJ, (weather may limit how limited!).  Please access the car parking from Gorton Road and follow marshals directions onto the field area and DO NOT park in the general car park as the agreement is to allow this for regular users of the Leisure Centre.  Please car share as much as possible.  There is also ample cycle parking here and bus services. If required, additional parking can be found at the King George V playing fields (on Beverley Rd, Kirk Ella) or the retail park on Springfield Way (no formal arrangement here) with some on street parking. 


Toilets and showers are in the leisure centre with free admission for competitors on production of race number.


A helpdesk will be available in the Main Hall from 8am on race day


We have arranged an early café opening in the Haltemprice Leisure Centre from 8:00am.  Please use the main hall once you’ve made your purchase.


The wearing of headphones (including bone conductors) or similar devices, (other than those medically prescribed), is not advised in order that you can hear what is going on around you.

Road Closures

The following roads will be closed for the Dave MacDonald Haltemprice 10K on Sunday 27 October 2019.  These are closed for the safety of runners and spectators and under a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order with the East Riding of Yorkshire Council from 9am to 10:30am.

The Race

During the Race

  1. Follow the instructions of the race marshals at all times
  2. Runners will be directed to the right hand side between 4 and 5km and the front runners between approx 6.5-7.5km
  3. Markers are in place each kilometre
  4. There will be lead and back marker cyclists
  5. Drinks will be provided at the halfway point


We are delighted to welcome Indigo Storm to play along the route on West Ella Road so they’ll keep you enterained both as you head up the hill and fly back down it.  They’ll be near the junction with Elverley Road. Indigo Storm are a Brit pop, funk pop and rock band, based in Hull and East Yorkshire playing both originals and covers. You can hear a snippet of them playing at the 2018 Hull Marathon her

At the Finish

  1. Please continue through the funnel in finishing order
  2. Drinks will be available beyond the finishing funnel along with your race momento
  3. Once finished please do not return though the finish area but head to the Leisure Centre after cheering in other runners

Prizes, Presentations and Results

Prizes will be presented approximately 10:45pm at Haltemprice Leisure Centre in the main hall. Prizes will be awarded to the top 5 male and female and top 3 in age of the following categories: 20 and Under male and female; Vet 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, 80+ male and female.
